Farleng Engineering Limited Announces Leadership Transition

Farleng Engineering Limited, a leading steel fabrication company based in Lucan, County Dublin, is pleased to announce the retirement of its Founder, John Farley. John has been a pivotal figure in the company’s success and growth since its formation in 1999. The management and entire team at Farleng Engineering wish him well as he transitions into a well-deserved semi-retirement. John will continue to lead his staff augmentation business, Farley & Sons, specializing in On-Site Steel Installation Services.

New Management Team

Effective 28th February 2024, Colm Holland and Timothy O'Reilly have been appointed as Co-Managing Directors of Farleng Engineering Limited. Colm and Timothy bring a diverse range of expertise, technical skills, and strategic vision, positioning the company for continued growth and success.

Colm Holland, a seasoned Construction Professional with decades of experience, joined Farleng Engineering in 2015 and has since held several key roles, most recently as Operations Director. With a background as a Metal Fabricator Welder, Colm combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of the needs of both customers and end clients. His commitment to operational excellence and hands-on leadership will continue to drive Farleng Engineering’s performance.

Timothy O'Reilly, a dual citizen of Ireland and the United States, is an Irish Chartered Accountant with a successful track record and two decades of experience in consulting, technology, and the aerospace and defence sectors. He has led Post Merger & Acquisition Integration activities for private equity-backed businesses and held senior management roles, including as CFO, where he refined his strategic growth and financial leadership skills. Prior to his time in industry roles, Timothy was the managing partner of a well-known mid-market accounting firm in Ireland.

Business Transformation

Under Colm and Timothy’s leadership, Farleng Engineering has undergone a rapid transformation through back-office digitalization and the implementation of operational excellence initiatives. The introduction of advanced software systems such as STRUMIS for manufacturing execution, Sitemate/Dashpivot for on-site supervision, Boxcore for SHE activities, Pandadocs for contract management, and PRECORO for workflow-driven purchasing has significantly increased overall efficiency. These efforts have strengthened Farleng Engineering’s ability to serve Tier 1 construction customers and their Fortune 500 end clients with high-quality, innovative solutions for complex projects, including data centre builds, pharmaceutical expansions, and large-scale commercial developments.

Sustainability and Commitment to the Built Environment

Farleng Engineering’s success is driven by its 40 skilled employees, whose dedication ensures the delivery of precise, high-quality steel fabrication solutions. The company is a proud member of the Irish Steel Association (Membership Number IS24036119) and holds accreditations including BS EN 1090-1: 2009 + A1:2011, BS EN 1090-2:2018, BS EN 5950-1:2000, Eurocode 1991, and Eurocode 1993 Product Standards, meeting stringent compliance requirements, including CE Marking to Execution Class 3. Committed to sustainability, Farleng Engineering integrates eco-friendly practices across its operations, reinforcing its role as a responsible industry leader.

Five-Year Strategic Plan

Looking ahead, Farleng Engineering’s five-year strategic plan focuses on customer-centric growth, employee development, and leadership within the built environment. Key elements of this strategy include:

-       Sustainable Automation: Farleng Engineering is committed to automating production processes to maximize capacity in a sustainable way while creating a supportive work environment for employees.
